25% of the ticket revenue from the Andorra 2026 World Cup will be allocated to an organ donation awareness campaign

25% of the proceeds from ticket sales for the Audi Ski World Cup Andorra 2026 will go to the Andorran Association of Transplant Recipients and Donors (ATIDA), which will launch a communication campaign aimed at raising awareness among the public about the importance of organ donation. This was announced by the organization to the event committee. In this regard, the vice president of the association, Jaume Boneta, welcomed the agreement and stated that “at ATIDA we are very happy to be part of the World Cup project with Grandvalira, because thanks to ticket sales we will be able to start a public awareness campaign to encourage organ donation.”

The association, which currently has around one hundred members, is actively working to raise awareness about organ donation in Andorra. According to Boneta, there are about ten people on the waiting list in the country to receive an organ. At present, only bone marrow and corneal donations can be done in the Principality. In this context, ATIDA is working with the Government of Andorra with the aim of moving towards broader legislation. The goal is that by 2027 the country will have a transplant law that enables the first procedures to take place within Andorra.

The Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for the World Cup, Víctor Torres, has emphasized that the sporting event is intended to go beyond the competition itself. “The World Cup is a sports project, but it is also a project with a strong social commitment.” Torres pointed out that this commitment is not new and that for several seasons now a portion of ticket proceeds from the events has been allocated to organizations in the country. In the last World Cup in 2024, for example, the funds were donated to Special Olympics, thus consolidating a tradition of solidarity that is systematically maintained at alpine skiing events organized by the resort.
