The venues of top competitions
In Soldeu-El Tarter we find the mythical Àliga and Avet courses, a compact venue that is already among the most recognized in the world of competitive alpine skiing. It has hosted high-level competitions, such as European Cups, European Cup Finals, World Cups and World Cup Finals.
Avet Slope
The Avet slope is the venue for the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom and one of the leading references in international alpine skiing. Located in Soldeu, it stands out for its demanding course and excellent natural conditions, making it a key event on the World Cup calendar.
Selected in 2012 to host women’s World Cup races, the Avet slope has consolidated its prestige by staging the World Cup Finals in 2019 and 2023. In 2024, it once again took centre stage in international competition by hosting a women’s slalom and giant slalom.
FIS-homologated since 2007, the slope features a vertical drop of 416 metres for giant slalom and 210 metres for slalom, with a northeast orientation that ensures outstanding snow quality. The modern ski-in finish platform, seamlessly integrated with the village of Soldeu, completes a competition stadium designed to deliver the best experience for athletes, teams and spectators.
Àliga Slope
The Àliga slope is the venue for the speed disciplines, downhill and super-G. Over the years, it has hosted World Cup events in 2016, 2019, and 2023, and will do so again in the upcoming 2026 edition, reaffirming its role as a leading venue for speed events.
The competition stadium is located in the El Tarter sector, and its courses are approved by the International Ski Federation (FIS). In recent years, the circuit has been carefully prepared to ensure maximum safety for skiers while maintaining the spectacular nature of speed events.
The slope is 2.7 kilometers long, 60 meters wide, and has an impressive vertical drop of 751 meters, allowing skiers to reach speeds of over 120 km/h in some sections.
The finish line is located in the village of El Tarter itself, making it easy for fans to reach the finish on foot and experience the excitement of the competition up close.
