The Avet slope in Grandvalira undergoes FIS inspection for the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup

The International Ski Federation (FIS) inspected the Avet slope in Grandvalira this Friday to finalize the technical and organizational aspects of the women’s Alpine Ski World Cup, which will take place on March 6 and 7, 2027. On this occasion, the action will move to Soldeu with the giant slalom and slalom technical events.

The visit was led by the event’s sports director, Santi López, who welcomed the director of the women’s circuit of the FIS World Cup, Peter Gerdol. Throughout the day, various competition operations were reviewed on-site, the starting points for the races were validated, and agreements between the FIS and the organizing committee were discussed.

López gave a very positive assessment of the meeting and emphasized that "this inspection is the moment when we finalize every detail of the competition venue and strengthen our joint work with the FIS to ensure the best possible event."

For his part, Gerdol stated that "it is always a pleasure to return to Soldeu. The Avet slope is a very good venue for the women’s circuit and I am convinced that it will once again deliver great races."

The inspection was also attended by other FIS technical officials, the manager of the Andorran Ski Federation (FAE), Carlos Visa, and several members of the organizing committee.
