The Andorra 2026 Alpine Ski World Cup donates €4,085 to ATIDA
This amount comes from 25% of the ticket sales for the competition, a purchase that, besides granting the chance to experience the event live, also had a charitable purpose. It should be noted that the event was held on the Àliga slope in the El Tarter sector of Grandvalira from February 27 to March 1.
The check presentation, which took place this Thursday afternoon, was carried out by David Hidalgo, general director of the World Cup, and Víctor Torres, head of Corporate Social Responsibility for the project. Torres emphasized that the World Cup goes beyond the sporting sphere: "The Cup is conceived not just as a competition, but as an initiative with a strong social commitment."
This amount is allocated to a communication and awareness campaign for organ donation in Andorra. The initiative, under the slogan "Life goes on. Become an organ, cell, and tissue donor," can now be seen on a series of billboards located in the country's main shopping areas.
ATIDA is an organization currently made up of about a hundred members, working actively to promote awareness about organ donation in Andorra. There are around ten people on the waiting list in the country to receive an organ. As of today, in the Principality only bone marrow and cornea donation are possible. In this context, ATIDA is collaborating with the Government of Andorra with the intention of moving towards broader legislation. The aim is for the country to have a transplant law by 2027 that will allow the first procedures to begin.
