Much more than skiing: three days of competition, parties, culture, and excitement at the Grandvalira Alpine Ski World Cup
The Audi FIS Ski World Cup Andorra 2026, which will take place from February 27 to March 1, will go beyond the strictly sporting arena to become a multidimensional experience combining competition, culture, and celebration. One of the main new features of the Ski Festival—the name given to this fun and festive side of the event—is the focus on highlighting the country's traditions through initiatives that enhance Andorra’s cultural and identity dimension, such as livestock farming and folk culture.
One of the highlights of the Ski Festival will be the public bib draw, which will take place on Saturday, February 28, turning the award ceremony for Saturday’s super-G race and Sunday’s bib draw (the second SG) into a unique and festive event for ski lovers to enjoy. The event will be held at 6 PM in Plaça Carlemany in Canillo and will bring together top-level sport and Andorran folk culture, thanks to the participation of the Esbart dansaire de les Valls del Nord and the Canillo harlequins. A few minutes before (5:45 PM), the organization has planned an autograph signing session with the skiers from the Andorran Ski Federation, Cande Moreno and Jordina Caminal.
This blend of modernity and tradition will also be noticeable in the stands at the finish line of the Àliga slope, with the presence of the brown cow and the cowbells of the country’s farmers, delivering the authentic Andorran sound to cheer on the athletes. The aim is to link mountain livestock farming, elite ski racing, and land stewardship. The rest of the audience can join in with World Cup mini cowbells and giant foam hands with messages of support for the Andorran representative in the races, Jordina Caminal. Meanwhile, various animators will energize the stands with choreographies and interactive shows to create a festive and engaging atmosphere.
As always, one of the nerve centers of the Ski Festival will be the World Cup Village, where visitors and fans can experience the World Cup beyond the races themselves. This year, it will be located in the gardens of Hotel Nòrdic, next to the finish area, and will offer activities throughout all three days of competition. The space will feature an exhibitor area where leading snow and mountain sports brands will present their latest products. Planned fun activities include a giant ski race, snow mini-golf, photo spots, and music entertainment with DJs. In addition, various organizations from the country, such as the Fundació Privada Nostra Senyora de Meritxell and the Andorran Red Cross, will offer charitable and educational activities. Social Point will also return as a meeting place for ski fans, with official merchandise sales, interviews in the “Champions’ Corner,” and various engaging activities.
The Ski Festival will conclude with a strong music program at L'Abarset, the après-ski hotspot in the Pyrenees, which will host sessions from 4 PM on each day of the competition. On Friday, Luc Loren, Patricia Mantovani, and Eric Vëlycë will perform; on Saturday, Adam Beyer, Edu_Art, and Laeet will lead one of the most intense days; and on Sunday, the event will close with the Volunteers’ Party, designed to wrap up the World Cup with a sense of community.
The parallel activities of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Andorra 2026 are rounded off by the VIP area, located at the Àliga restaurant of the Hotel Nòrdic, offering an exclusive experience with privileged access to views of the course.
