Green light for the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup Soldeu 2024. Today at midday, by carrying out the 'snow control' test the International Ski Federation (FIS) validated the competition venue that will host two races of the Great White Carnival on the 10th and 11th of February. The Avet course and its design meet the conditions and criteria required to host the Giant Slalom and Slalom technical competitions. Specifically, the current snow density and granulometry (particle size) indicators are reported as "excellent" by Chief of Race Santi López. And he added: “From the start gate to the finish of the course the snow is very uniform. This means that a tremendous job has been done because the snow density and firmness are very similar in all sections.” In a gesture of confidence, the FIS entrusted the organisation with the task of carrying out all the tests on the snow. Santi López carried out the task, along with race course heads David Fillet and Xoque Bellsolà, Secretary-General Marc Mitjana and Grandvalira ENSISA Deputy Chief of Engineers Robert Lindsey.
