The race team for the Andorra 2023 World Cup Finals are in Kitzbühel collaborating on the preparations for the World Cup race which carries the same name as the mountain there, the Hahnenkam-Rennen. The iconic event will be held in this Austrian venue from the 17th - 22nd January when two downhills and one slalom will be contested. An Andorran team, headed by race director, Santi López, is currently busy getting the downhill course ready on the legendary Streif course. Since the 1930s, this famous course has hosted the most prestigious and spectacular speed test on the circuit. In 2020, before the pandemic, the race, which is the 'blue riband event', was watched live by the spectacular figure of 50,000 spectators in total. For this edition, the organization has limited the total capacity to 40,000 people.
Participation in this prestigious World Cup event is an opportunity for the Andorran technical team to gain further experience. The Soldeu El Tarter (Grandvalira) chiefs of race, David Fillet and Francesc Xavier Bellsolà, have also travelled with Santi.
